On March 28, nodeck was part of the Corvinus Undergraduate Business Experience (CUBE), one of the premier international case competitions organized by Corvinus University of Budapest and the Corvinus Case Track Community.

For the event's T-shirt swap, more than 50 participants from all 15 international teams used nodeck to connect before exchanging their university merchandise. Students from universities including UTS, HKU, CUHK, the University of Minnesota, Simon Fraser University, and the University of St. Gallen joined the experience, turning what is usually a simple exchange into an opportunity to meet new people.

The goal was straightforward: make it easier for participants to discover others with shared interests and create conversations that might not have happened otherwise.

One of the most rewarding moments came when we overheard participants saying, "We matched on nodeck." It was a small comment, but for us it represented something much bigger. It showed that the platform was becoming part of real interactions rather than just another event tool.

Like any early deployment, the event wasn't perfect. We encountered a few operational challenges and learned valuable lessons about scaling the experience in a live, international setting. Even so, the core idea worked. Participants met people outside their own teams, started conversations with students from different universities, and built connections that extended beyond the competition itself.

That is exactly the kind of experience nodeck is designed to create.

Every event teaches us something new, and CUBE was no exception. The feedback, conversations, and observations from the day are already shaping improvements for future deployments.
